Firstly, I hope I didn't come off as impatient, as I appreciate anyone who's been contributing to this thread, and I myself don't really have the time or even the inclination to jump into this stuff on a work day.
However, extra thanks to ThrashZone for digging up that article from the ether. There's no way I would have ever found that on my own. Sure enough, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my computer and it took Microsoft to create a problem worse than the potential issues they are hypervigilant about releasing updates for. I went into the BIOS, located the security setting and set it to "Other OS" and she booted up like it never happened. Except Safe Mode moved my desktop icons into disgusting, neat little rows.

Yes that one threw a few people for a loop silly bitlocker junkware update
I just leave it to collect digital dust
It is a recommended update so if you exclude those from being mixed in with the Important updates it will show in the Optional section and can be ignored :)
