    3 Hard drives in series?

I had 2 hard drives in series. c and d drive and also one external hd
I changed the main one to SSD and left the old one in there.

I was thinking can I use the old one as a 3rd Hard drive?

I did notice that the cable (SATA) had three connectors in line, just one cable.

    So question is..
Can I just move the main c drive ssd to the first cable connector
reconnect the old hard drive to the second connector and connect my 3rd hd to the 3rd connector?

I read that 2 is the limit but I think that is for older machines.

    Thanks in advance

The old ide you could only have master and slave on one port but if you have sata and 3 ports you can have 3 drives some maybe special ports for raid or other we realy need make model of the motherboard to tell you for sure

thanks yes it had just one cable with 3 connectors inline. Can I just add the c drive ssd to the first inline and then the other 2 after that? Will it be able to work out that the first is the boot drive?
Also the second will have the old OS on it too until I start the PC and remove the files. Could that cause an issue?
I will double check but I am sure there were 3 inline connections on the cable.

I think there is a power wire and data wire inline spare so hoping can just move c ssd drive up to front add second drive to 2nd inline and add 3rd drive to third position. Computer will rec os first drive which is c drive and boot up and then all i do is removed the old os files from the second drive and use it for data backup etc after format

There seems to be 6 ports on the MB so you should be able to have 6 devices
