Cant pair Bluetooth Keyboard - pairing option wont show

    hi,

my laptop has windows 7 home premium acer 64bit os,model 8950g.

I am having trouble trying to add my bluetooth keyboard:
The bluetooth software is showing, and it finds the keyboard on its own.

But the bluetooth pairing with list of discovered devices does not show anywhere, and if i try to use the "add a device" from printers and devices",it will not find the keyboard.

The laptop is "discoverable" by devices, its just that the pairing and list of devices does not show anywhere!

On win8.1 i need to go to the win8.1 start to find the pairing and list of devices, but there is not that option in win7!

    thanks

Did you read the keyboard manual? Some of them has a small button to be pressed to start recognition.
Open Control panel - Device manager an see if there is any hardware that needs attention.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
That is one of the issues associated with KB3172605
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3172605

    Known issues in this update

    • Issue 1

      Symptom
After you install KB 3133977, the software for Intel Bluetooth devices may not be fully functional because of existing software issues in the Intel Bluetooth driver software. These issues may affect Bluetooth keyboards, mice, audio streaming devices, and voice headsets. You may also not be able to pair new Bluetooth devices. Intel is currently working on an update to address their software incompatibilities.

      Workaround
If you require Intel Bluetooth support on Windows 7 before the revised software is available, the only known workaround at this time is to uninstall this update temporarily and then reinstall it after Intel has updated their software.

    hi,
Thanks for the reply.I have had a look around the internet. The problem is that i dont have sp1 installed or KB 3133977 installed.I updated the bluetooth driver software,i guess that updates the driver itself too, from the acer website.Dont think that will work either. There may be no solution to the problem or do driver manager softwares work to solve this sort of problem? I have never used any,as i usually try not to update things while they are working. The keyboard works perfectly with my other laptop,so its working fine...

    thanks

You should update to, at least, SP1. Many software s won't work properly if you don't have it.
For security reasons, you should also let Win to update.
KB3125574 contains all the security and non-security fixes released since the release of Windows 7 SP1 that are suitable for general distribution, up through April 2016.
It’s single, Multi language, 488MB update file (msu). On a recent installation, you must have first to install KB3020369.
