USB mouse keeps disconnecting then reconnecting

I'm quite sure this isn't a mouse issue like a intermittent cable or such. But i hear that sound that you get when you pull a active USB device out of it's socket and the mouse is frozen, then a few seconds later the reconnect sound and the mouse starts working again. It happens no matter which USA port i use and i cannot make it happen by wiggling the cable. It is also very intermittent in when it does it. It might work fine for most of the day then all of a sudden it disconnects and reconnects several times over the course of a minute or so, then stops doing it for up to a day. Nothing was changed since this started, and the USB drivers are the original ones i haven't updated and the mouse driver has no new driver since i bought it about 6 mo ago. It's a roccat gaming mouse. I think this is a USB issue but i can't think of what could have caused it to just start happening out of the blue.

If it's a wireless mouse, replace battery s.
You didn't mentioned, but I suppose, as it's a game mouse, it's a wired mouse. How old is your mouse?
I had once the same problem and it was the cable. As you move the mouse, the cable bends on the cable - mouse inlet and break inside. I opened the mouse and cut ed the cable 8 cm (3"). I didn't cut ed near the connector. I've cut ed 2 cm (1") from it to have enough length to make a connection.

Try a different mouse and see what happens.
