Portable SSD does not show any files in my computer but it's half ful

I tried scanning it with Kaspersky Internet security, found 'not a virus', I then deleted the file containing the virus, them scanned the PC, it was clean then the SSD again, clean. So I restarted windows and connected the ssd, no files displayed but if I ask my computer to find a file, it finds it easily?

Right click Computer - Manage - Disk Management and post here an image of the screen.

The Disk Management says "no media" so I opened up the case containing the SSD, which is a Kingstone case, and I checked that the contacts are fully inserted into the case. Everything looked OK

Mohab, it seems OK, but the image doesn't show the columns where it shows the amount of free space.
As you say that you can find the files but can't see them on Explorer, maybe they have a hidden or system attribute.
Close Explorer
Go to Control panel - Folder options - View
- Hidden Files and folders - Show Hidden Files, folders and drives
- Unmark - Hide empty drives in computer folder
- Unmark - Hide extensions for known file types (for security this should ALWAYS be unmarked)
- Unmark - Hide protected operating system files
Apply - Close
Open Explorer. Can you see them now?

Mysteriously it showed three folders:
System volume information
Recycle Bin
.Trashes (which contains all the drive's folders)


I personally think it's a virus?

It's not a virus.
Did you use it on a Mac or Linux?
.Trashes is normally created on Mac.
Try to select all files and folders on .Trashes and move them (Ctrl+X) to root (\) Ctrl+V)

I googled it and unfortnetly it did turn out to be a virus that doesn't have an easy method of removal

There is no virus that move files and folders to .Trashes.
Apple computers do.
If you want your files back, do what I said:
- Select all files and folders on .Trashes and move them (Ctrl+X) to root (\) Ctrl+V)
