Hi,
100.us for 2 more cores :)
An update am really stuck for choosing the PSU but am finding the pricing way above the last time I built. Gone are the Corsair HX series but for a few that are super expensive.
My query is what brands would anyone recommend I have in mind Antec Be Quiet Thermaltake and Coolermaster but would rally like to go fully modular but part mod would be acceptable.
Calculated power use is about 350W for the components that are obvious I will fit and I was thinking say 700-750W in case I need to add higher spec parts, and make sure I am covered with room to spare.
Hi,
Personally I'd get a G2 series EVGA :)
My Acer I have a 850w P2 and my asus I have a 1200 P2 but the G2 series is pretty good.
Thanks Mike I'll have a look at them because I have never used that brand for anything before although I see plenty use their components eh?
OK these two look like the go (and price range) for me and are fully modular too plus being a single 12v rail

The EVGA PSUs are good. I have a 1050W one. Seasonic is generally considered the 'best', whatever that means. I have one of them too. I believe EVGA is made by Super Flower or FSP, I don't recall. Both are good companies. Seasonic makes power supplies for several of the better OEM brands.
If you want to read about them, this is good reading.

Hi,
Either one although 750w gives you more expansion for gpu's.. :)
A better vender makes the G2 & P2 series psu's than evga'a bronze series stuff
There was a who makes psu's for all manufactures that sells them and just plop their logo on them some where possibly Steve's links will show that :)
The wiring is what I really like about evga's = very few if any pigtails for other power lines unlike what I noticed on Corsair stock wiring especially to gpu's :)
Yes Steve I have that whirlpool link myself as it was the froum I used before I came here but still nip in now and then but.... I do like th EVGA especially because of the warranty period.
I have been looking at this too (made by Seasonic) but only five years warranty

See if you can find good deals on FSP power supplies. EVGA just rebrands their power supplies.
Yep Roaster I have a few FSP oldies but goldies I have pulled out of old computers and have used in some refurbs and yes they are good, but they are not available form my usual suppliers which id=s why I use that link from Steve re the Whirlpool listings for manufacturers but even so am still limited.
