Wireless keyboard/ mouse no go on boot

I have a logitech wave keyboard that is not being reconginzed on boot up. I recieve the error " Cannot locate keyboard or mouse", something to that effect (at work right now, can't remember exactly), so anyway, it hangs,...I plug in a wired board and it boots no problem. Then Logitech wave and Perormance MX mouse work great.
The were purchased separately and run off two separate usb receivers ( haven't been able to unify them in Logitech software yet, but I don't think that's the issue. Drives are current and updated. It should still recognize the keyboard thru the USB card on boot up...So what am I missing???
Thanks in advance for your response...

How are your BIOS settings? Is the BIOS up to date? Are USB devices enabled fully?

    Probably not

I'll check when I get home, but is their a setting in bios for that?
Where should I check to make sure USB devices are enabled fully?
    Thx

There are various settings in the BIOS concerning USB, and whether or not legacy devices are enabled. I can't tell you about your specific BIOS, however the majority certainly do have USB parametres that users can adjust.

If the answer does not lie in the BIOS revision you have then check if any updates exist, and also try to ensure you are loading the correct Logitech drivers before plugging in these devices.

I always keep several wired mice and keyboards kicking around, in case my wireless ones decide to go south for any reason.

you may also want to set bios error detection to "Halt on all but keyboard" that way if you "can't" or for some other reason your keyboard is not detected you can still post and boot normally
