    HP Wireless Network printer No longer Works from only Dell Desktop

    I have been living with this issue for a couple of months and wish to now resolve issue with your help.

    Issue:
    HP OfficeJet 4630 wireless printer no longer prints with my Dell D531 Desktop computer via WLAN, however works with all other WLAN connected devices, e.g., cellphones, netbook, laptop, and tablets. The print spooler indicates print finishes ok but nothing actually prints to
    Dell desktop..

    What I have done to fix issue without success:

    1) Uninstalled/re-installed wifi printer several times on Desktop;
    2) Reconnected HP printer to WLAN couple of times;
    3) Properties for both desktop and printer show the same internet address;
    4) Tried using MS Fixit printer trouble/diagnostic tools with no success (doesn't find issue); and
    5) Read through this and other forums with no help so far.

    System:
    OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    RAM 4Gb
    BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. 1.0.13, 2/9/2009 (Latest)
    Graphics Name NVIDIA GeForce 210

    Any reasonable advice is appreciated.

    When you uninstalled/reinstalled the HP printer software, did you reboot before reinstalling? If you didn't reboot the same problem can still be there.

    Also, make sure you fully uninstall the HP software. Only a partial uninstall can also be an issue.
    Download and install the free version of Revo Uninstaller. Run that to uninstall as it also allows scanning the registry.

    "3) Properties for both desktop and printer show the same internet address;"

    I am not sure I have understood this correctly.

    In my setup my NetGear ADSL modem/router directly connects to the desktop by wire. The router also acts as a DHCP server. Address 192.168.0.9 is reserved to the desktop and it always gets this address. Address 192.168.0.21 is reserved for my HP 3775 printer - latest addition ( The World's smallest all in one printer - HP3755 in USA HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer(J9V90A)| HP(R) United States)

    So I have been wondering how the Desktop and the printer can have the same IP address. ( May be your setup is different ??)

    EDIT: While setting up the wireless, I had three options: DHCP, BOOTP, Manual IP. Since my router was DHCP enabled, I reserved one address for the Printer MAC id and chose DHCP while setting up the Wireless printer. The screenshot after the Printer Setup:

    1) Fireberd: I have tried what you suggested with no change to print issue --Thanks

    2) Jumangi: I print at home via my wireless printer that is connected to WLAN using the same IP address. All my wireless devices (7) work except and only recently the Dell desktop. I have always used windows "Add Printer" + wireless option for years with no issues until this recent one. - Thanks

    Resolved - HP Wireless Network printer No longer Works from only Dell Desktop

    Well my printer not printing from my desktop is resolved.

    Thanks to all for helping and as I stated previously I will provide the resolution provided by, Dvortex, of HP Support via the HP Forum.

    A simple rundown:
    1) performed some tests;
    2) manually built a another printer with new IP address; and
    3) gave full access to all printer users by editing "Devices and Printers /Printer Properties/ Security Tab / Edit [Advance/Edit]"

    I have attached a MS doc file that provides Dvortex's steps to resolve my issue. If anyone can't open the doc file I will provide the file details
    in another update.

    Hope this will help others

    Since I couldn't or don't know hw to attach a doc file I have inserted the resolution below:

    Hello, @bob3677 – Hope you are well!

    Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others.

    Follow the steps below to assign a manual IP and assign a new "port" to fix this issue:

    • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
    • Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
    • Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
    • Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
    • Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address) Apply the settings and close the page.

    After setting a manual IP address for the printer, add a printer port to Windows that matches this new IP address.

    • Search Windows for devices, and then select “Devices and Printers” in the list of results.
    • Right-click the name of your printer, and then select “Printer Properties”.
    • The Properties window opens.
    • Click the “Ports” tab, and then click “Add Port”.
    • Select “Standard TCP/IP Port”, and then click “New Port”.
    • Type the printer’s IP address that you wrote down earlier, and then click “Next”.
    • Select the new “Standard TCP/IP Port” from the list, and then click “OK”.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup. Now try printing.

    Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome.

    Ok Dvortex, I have followed you instructions even though my Tabs/screens didn't match but I have attached a screen shot so you can see if I did as you wanted.

    I also tried to exit my Virus program and still no print success.

    Hello @bob3677,
    Thank you for the update.
    So am I to understand that you did assign a manual IP and also assigned a TCP/IP port? Let me know.
    If done, I would suggest you provide admin permissions for your printer.

    • Press the "Windows logo key" + "r" to get “Run" - Type "spool" and press ok.
    • Right-click on "PRINTERS" - Select "Properties"
    • Select "Security" tab. You will find few entries like "Administrators" and "users", click on "Edit" and give "Full permission" to all the entries. Save / apply the settings.
    • Go to "Devices and printers", right-click on the new printer that you installed and select "Printer properties".
    • Select "Security" tab. You will find few entries like "Administrators" and "users", click on "Edit" and give "Full permission" to all the entries. Save / apply the settings.
    • Restart your computer and then try to print.

    Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

    Dvortex:
    Thanks much (and all is well now) for resolving my issue that I have been "living" with for few months.
    I work primarily from my desktop so, before your resolution, I had to forward print info to my cellphone so I could print the information on the same printer I couldn't access via my desktop.
    Your third response worked for me after edit/applying the Security Tab options for all. However, all three responses would be helpful to anyone having similar issue to mine.
    Now i will ask the difficult question; how does this issue start since I didn't have the issue for years of use with the HP OfficeJet 4635 e-All-In-One printer?

    Again much thanks to you
