External Hard Drive driver always fails to install on laptop

On my HP 255 G2 Notebook PC when I plug my external hard drive with all my Pokémon Movies, Episodes, Music, etc, the driver installation always hangs for 15 minutes before saying "failed". The external drive works on all other computers even the Dell Optiplex 780 that I posted about quite a bit. But the two files I need to move to it are on my HP 255 G2 Notebook PC. These files are too big to put on any FAT flash drive, these are 1080p mp4 movies with near perfect quality, these are at least 8GB in size each. the file system of the flash drives won't recognize files of that size so I have to put them directly on the hard drive. If I go into Device Manager or Devices and Printers, right click troubleshoot on the device. the troubleshooter always hangs on "Detecting Problems" and never completes or moves on.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Make a check disk on the computer it works. run chkdsk x: /f and x is the assigned letter to it.

On the HP 255 G2 Notebook run sfc /scannow

    Hi

Format the flash drive as NTFS.

Maybe get a 32 GB or bigger flask drive.
Bigger capacity is no problem on having NTFS system.

You can use the CLEAN option, if you can.

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
