WDC internal hard disk not accessible

Hi. My problem is that my internal hard dsik suddenly stopped working . One of my friend tried by taking out the same and opening it. Aftet this i tried to access it via external hdd case. Now it is detected in bios (making some noise in detection) and can be seen in computer management console under hard disk but cannot be seen in disk managemnt or anywhere else and if tried to access from other softwares like hiren boot cd etc it is becoming undetectable from computer management console also. Please help as it is having very important data.

You might be stuck taking it to a professional recovery company -- they might be able to platter-transfer from the original chassis into another chassis and get the data copied onto another external media.

From what you have said about your friend opening up the HDD, it would seem that it is now ruined. HDD are intricate & operate within very fine tolerances & you have said that it was noisy afterwards & now it is not even detected, so it's very likely beyond repair.

Some of the data recovery companies that specialise in getting data back from HDD's might be able to help you, but I think once they find that the drive has been opened they will refuse to even try. Data recovery can also be expensive.
