I have an HPWebcam companion3 installed suddenly the camera showed connected but no picture on program just a black screen.I have re-installed without any success just don't know what to do to rectify this problem apart from buying another webcam.NowIi am 90yrs old so any solutions must be explicit because I am not a computer whizz.

Open device manager, go to the camera, properties, details tab - Harware ID's
Put the mouse over the fist ID, Copy the ID (left click). Is something like USB\VID_0471&PID_2034&REV_0000&MI_00.
Put it on Google to find the driver.

Hi,thanks for your reply,done it,get two details,C:\Windows\System32\drivers\kstkunk.sys
" " ""\USBVW780.sys
none of which is remotely like you example.it is quite possible that I am not doing this correctly.....Device manager/Properties,Driver details, and these are the details.
