Windows 7: disk 1 is unknown, not initialized, unallocated

    Hi All,
I have WD external hard disk connected via USB and it does not get detected in explorer. Checked few threads here and tried them and no success. I am attaching screen shot from My computer disk management where it shows disk as "Not initialized" and "Unallocated". I had installed Minitool partition recovery but the disk is not appearing in that window. Please help. I do not want to lose the data

Merely saying WD external HDD does not help.

Only if your WD external drive is Elements Desktop, we can take out the HDD from its enclosure, hook it up as an internal drive on a desktop and try data recovery.

If it is any other WD desktop external or WD portable external like My Book, Passport , Passport Ultra, Elements portable, we cannot do that either because the data is hardware encrypted by the enclosure electronics (SATA to USB bridge) and/or the HDD is not seperable from the enclosure electronics. In these cases you have to contact WD Data Recovery partners if you want to recover the data.No DIY data recovery is possible.
