External HD 4TB - 2 Partitions To MBR [2TB Each]
Heya,

Quite simple.
Warning: Any change on disk partition is risky. If you have data that you cant lose, backup fist.
- Install mini tool Partition - https://www.partitionwizard.com/download/pw10-free.exe.
- If the disk is empty (no data). delete all partitions, create 2 new of 2 T, convert to MBR.
- If it has data (less than 2 T) shrink the partition to 2 T, convert to MBR, create new partition from the RAW space.

Is there limit for MBR as 2,3 GB HDD?
Converting to MBR as disk not as partition
Maximum size for an MBR partition is 2TB there is not as far as i am aware any small size limit other than the practical one that the actual Master Boot record has a size, so any drive must be larger than the actual MBR records
Disks have to have a minimum of one partition in order to be used by windows and I believe all other operating systems, the format of this partition will set which OS can be used with them - so not sure of your second sentence
Can i declare one partition as MBR and another as GPT?????
As You all talk about mbr partition not mbr disk table in boot area as part of disc memory management.
I am looking different answers and more answers, more unclearence...
I am interesting in solution that will not be problematic in all kind of software , not only finest one...
Same as you can use NTFS formating in usb and removable memories, but it is not very practical because of abruptly disconnection of that kind of memory devices...
All conveniences gained with ntfs are less value than problems with disconnection of usb...
So
I can state answer as MBR limit is for 2TiB of units, so if cluster is 4k instead of 512, then limit is not 2TB than 16TB
Or if you want to declare HDD more than 2TB as MBR because of win 7, 10 installation then use clusters of 1k and more...
There is a built in maximum of 2TB for any partition in the MBR standard - cluster size will not break this, you can change the cluster size but you will simply have a different number of clusters to make up the 2TB if you try to format a for example a 3TB MBR hard disk as a single partition it will either fail or more likely create a 2TB partition and leave the remainder of the space as unallocated.
MBR and GPT are disk systems and must apply to the disk in total so you cannot Mix and match to suit your needs
NTFS is a format system and can be used on both GPT or MBR disks using their own partition types, so is irrelevant in any discussion of MBR v GPT
So, MBR is due someone hard disk partition table and disk system, and according to others just partition formating system, since there is way to make one hdd unit into 2 mbr formatet disk system partition...
Theory earlier was mbr is hdisk format, but in todays scams and variations in hardware industry everything is possible...
I am wanting to do this very same thing. Can you advise step by step how you were able to accomplish this? I have tried several times and receive an error message that it cannot be accomplished or more specifically, "Error: MiniTool Partition Wizard cannot convert this GPT disk to MBR disk (partition layout exceed 2TB limit)." I tried right at 2TB and then even smaller at 1.75TB.
Thoughts?
