So it's not a partition table loss. Good to know. Unfortunately CrystalDiskInfo shows a "Bad" status. Not too encouraging is it?

Here's a poster suggesting me what to do with TestDisk when i was asking about the default value [None]. He was talking about the advanced menu which i have no idea what that does. Do you think it's worth checking it out as well?

Yep, not very encouraging. But still I am not losing hope as yet. Let us see whether TestDisk can come to help again.

With only your faulty drive connected, Run TestDisk as an administrator ( Rightclick and Run as administrator).

Screen 1 : Highlight [Nolog] - Enter

Screen 2 : Highlight your External Disk > [Proceed] - Enter

Screen 3: Highlight [Intel] - Enter

Screen 4: Highlight [Advanced] – Enter

Screen 5 is crucial – make or break. What does it show? Post a screenshot.

My God! He is not just a poster. He is Christophe Grenier, the author of TestDisk. Don't you see his name on top in the TestDisk Window?

I saw Grenier's response only after my last post. And OK we are doing that only now. Also make note as Christopher Grenier suggested, in the Second screen you should only select Disk and not the drive with the drive letter. .( I always tell the OP when I start them on TestDisk. "Select Disk and not drive".) Have you been doing that? You should not select Drive. Atleast now select only the Disk and not drive.

Thanks Jumanji. I didn't notice that he is the creator of TestDisk. I was too distressed and distracted by this issue so anyone that came forward with help, i would so happy and didn't really looked too closely.

I noticed that i selected the logical drive instead of the physical disk when i posted to you last time. My bad. I am going to do that now and select the disk. Give me sometime to get the screen to you. Thanks.

No need to have gone to the sixth screen. Anyway you did - no harm. We already know that the boot sector @2048 is ok.

Now just move the highlight to [List] and press Enter. See whether your files are listed. Post the screenshot.

Do only what is instructed and do not overshoot as you did. In particular there is no need to [Rebuild BS] as Grenier suggested. BS - Boot Sector is already OK.

Sorry, strictly follow instructions from now on. I can't find any files on it.

You don't seem to have any file or folder in that drive except the Recycle Bin which was created on 17 Feb 2015.Not even System Volume Information.

Highlight Recycle Bin and press enter. Let us see what it contains.

I shall be back after another half-an-hour
