If you have closed Testdisk, repeat till you get to the screen in your post#27 where it says boot sector OK and backup bootsector OK. In that screen highlight [MFT Repair] and press Enter. Post the screen that appears. Let us see what it says.

That means the Master file table has been lost and /or has become unreadable. Reason why it does not read any files. Close TestDisk.

OK, now download, install and run Getdataback Simple from https://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm. Scan your 1TB drive and check whether it shows your files.

It will scan your system and should show your system drive and the 1TB faulty drive. Click on the 1TB drive and if it shows the partition in it, click on that partition and see whether it shows your files. If you have any doubts post the screenshot.

Be prepared to work with me for another hour or so before we close down for the day.And don't worry. If data is still there we will employ PhotoRec in TestDisk to rebuild the files even in the absence of MFT. You will not get the original folder structure and original filenames but you can get most files depending upon how much has been lost in the Pending Sector count.

Hi Jumanji, some of the files are there. I am happy at least some showed up, about 100+GB showed up. So what's next?

I would really appreciate it if you could guide me thru how to employ PhotoRec in TestDisk to get the files back. I am going to take a little break now. Been staring at the laptop for so long but i really am grateful to you for all the help you have been most gracefully extended to me. :)

No probs. You can relax. Just run Crystal Disk Info once more and let me know whether the current Pending Sector count has increased from 16504. And then you can go to sleep. Safely remove your 1TB drive and keep it away when not working on it. Do not keep it plugged in always.

I have another four hours before I go to sleep and shall write a detailed post later after dinner. You can see it tomorrow morning.

Hope you had a good dinner.

The pending sector count is now at 16520. If you don't have time to write up a detailed guide, i can go to Testdisk website and read up the tutorials. I have been taking up too much of your precious time. I can wait as well so please no hurry. :)
