Internal system disk 477GB vs Internal ATAPI device Windows 7

For some reason I thought Intel Rapid Storage Technology was a 'cloud' I disabled it...all sorts of problems. When I went to 'events' and ran the 'menory check' a pop up let me put it back....also, the restart to results from the memory lasts about 2 I never have seen the results.

Back to the 'Rapid Storage' It has two choices Internal system disk 477GB and Internal ATAPI device. since Internal System disk was on top, I clicked it...and hit a button called 'save" was pre filled in.

Now when I shut down and go back 'notifications' on the task bar says my Interl Rapid Storage has been turn off. I clicked on it and the same pop up I got when I 'save' shows...and the check mark is still on Internal system disck 477GB...and the 'notification' now has a green check..showing it is up again. I assume, I shouldn't have to do this every time.

Since it does not want to stay...did I chose the wrong one...should I be using the Internal ATAPI device instead?...and if so, how do I cancel the one and go to the other.
