Windows 7: Windows 7 BSOD from Setpoint

I don't want to jinx myself but I rolled my pc back to a Acronis True Image backup file from May 2017. I recall everything working fine at that point. I tried using system restore and it resulted in some programs not working so Acronis has been a better solution for me (I think I'll actually turn off System Restore as it seems to be unreliable). So far so good. I was using Setpoint Version 4.80.103 and it works. I don't plan to upgrade Setpoint to a newer version as this works. Just hoping I don't see any BSOD.

Thanks for getting back & glad to hear you seem to have it working. The Set Point version you are using is a fairly old one & was apparently designed for Windows XP & Office 2003.

The current version is 6.67.83 released on Sept 8th, 2015 in case you are interested.

I know Version 4.80 is older, but it works for me. When I use the new version my pc tends to crash resulting in BSOD. I wish I could use the new version but have experienced too many issues with it on my pc. The mix of software and configuration on my PC is such that it just doesn't seem to like the new version.

If that version is the only one that works on your computer, definitely stick with it.

Well, I'm so tired of Setpoint. I experienced issues with old and the newest versions. With the new version installed my pc would go to sleep but wake suddenly due to Setpoint. I am so tired of Setpoint issues I removed it and just allow Windows to assign drivers for the mouse and keyboard. Now both work great. All I sacrifice is some of the hotkeys I don't use any way. At least my system is stable and the pc sleeps without issue.

Setpoint for a very long time has been nothing but problems.
I did as you and just use Windows 7 default drivers.
I really don't need all those extras.

It can be that the installation wizard program is corrupted.

I ended up completing a fresh install of Windows 7 to address the issues. What a mess. Now all of the software is installed and all is well. I'm just using the Windows drivers for the Logitech keyboard and mouse. Forget SetPoint. It just causes issues.
