    Weird mouse pointer anomaly?

I don't this happened to me when I was using XP, but I can run my mouse arrow all the way to the left and it will hit the end and not go any further, BUT if I do the same thing and roll the pointer to the far right the arrow disappears off screen. Was this done on purpose or a glitch you think?

Just out of curiosity, I tried it on my screen. When on the left, it hits the screen and stops but on the right, I can just about see it. It is almost out of sight on the right. In any event nothing to worry about. Just, enjoy your new operating system.

it happens to me as well, but only if:
1 - I extend the screen to the second monitor (Win + P)
2 - set incorrect resolution (too big) on my LCD

Windows 7 has absolutely nothing built into it to even manage dual monitors, and quite honestly there are far worse problems than the mouse going off the screen edges...

my mouse goes off the screen and selects other stuff on its own and my remote settings are all disabled. my mouse also freezes way too much and the only thing i can do is figure out the equal keyboard strokes or else reboot. i reinstalled my system like over 5 times this year. i might go back to xp! win7 have a lot of cool features but only at the price of loosing your peace of mind

Maybe you need a new mouse.

Go to Control panel, mouse and choose approriate settings.

Go to tools, top of screen, choose intenet options, choose advanced, then choose use smooth scrolling under browisng option. One of these may work.

There is nothing wrong here. The active pixel in the mouse cursor is the one at the apex of the arrow.

Even though i tried this before i saw your post i decided to reply to your quote anyway, because you took the time to try to help me :) - - - O.K. so here's what i did:

    Steps:
    1. Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse (under Devices and Printers)
    2. Buttons Tab: speed was set 1 point beyond halfway so i moved it backward to halfway (default setting may have been too fast)
    3. Looked at Pointer's Tab but didn't touch anything
    4. Pointer's Options Tab: Set Pointer Speed (in Motion box) is set at halfway and Enhance pointer precision box is checked; Hide pointer while typing (in Visibility box) is checked; nothing else was set or checked. Clicked Apply to Finish and closed out.

After this i continued to have a similar experience, so i went back to Step 1. above and continued with the following Steps:

    5. Wheel Tab: Roll the wheel one notch to scroll: The following number of lines at a time: is set to 1 (in the Vertical scrolling box); likewise, Tilt the wheel to scroll the following number of characters at a time: is set to 1. Clicked Apply to Finish and closed out.

Problem seems to have disappeared so i think it was the Wheel Tab settings making my mouse hyper Hope this helps somebody!

I have the same problem as the person at the start of this thread except my mouse seems to go a long ways past the edge and i was trying to figure out that thing where you drag two windows side by side and they automaticaly fit to half of the screen and i couldn't find the side on the right and i lost a window out to the right of the screen and can't get it back to the center. I have tried changing resolution and nothing fixes it, any suggestions
