    Hi albaiani,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

Here is Shuey for you - Oct 6,2013 ( jumanji is just doing a copy/paste job with some embellishments :))

"[SOLVED] I scoured the net for an hour trying to find a solution to this same problem, but nothing I found worked. The fix for me was: I added "SYSTEM" to the security properties and gave it full control (I already had my own user account set as the owner and with full rights, but it still wasn't displaying the volume label). After doing that and rebooting the computer, the drive label displays properly in Windows Explorer now."

Before doing any modifications as outlined, please create a System Restore point to which you can restore should something go wrong in your execution and you panic..

Right click on the drive/Volume/Partition on which you want to act upon > Properties > Security Tab > Click on the EDIT button and that will bring the Add Remove buttons. Click on the Add button and add SYSTEM to the Group or User names and give all Permissions. Of course click on Apply and then OK. Close all Windows and then reboot.

Let us know whether it worked.

    Hi Senior Member
    jumanji

Thanks for your reply . Succeeded only one time at the first attempt , then my PC returned as before .
I noticed that attaching a second HD provoked the problem.

Today I start the PC and every thing is normal . All partitions with their assigned letters . Again the problem raised when I start using my PC .

I noticed that the problem is really due the windows explorer .

    Thanks your help
