Can not access my D drive
So.
I'll explain the situation of how I see it.
My laptop has 3 drives:
C drive - windows and all the programs are installed in it. 70GB of 110GB used.
D drive - ONLY photography stuff. images and video files. 200GB of 800GB used.
E drive - random stuff that I never touch. Some movies and yeah.. nothing much. 20GB of 100GB used.
Yesterday I shot some footage with my Nikon and recorded some audio with my Zoom h1. Came back home, did the usual thing - backed everything up to my Seagate 5TB drive using Free File Sync software. I mirrored the D drive with the seagate's exact copy of it so my new footage would be backed up. Everything went smoothly.
As I turned my Acer Aspire 771G laptop in the morning I experienced extremely long windows loading time. 10 minutes for windows to boot up is not normal. Usually it takes 20sec tops. After it was booted up and I could see the windows screen, I tried clicking here and there and it would be totally unresponsive. I couldn't click on a c drive to open it up - waiting for more than 10 minutes and then I would force stop the action. Same with the D drive. I couldn't open and It wouldn't even show a bar below it with a used and free space. E drive - could open without problems. However, when I would try to open a movie (requires a program from c drive to open it up) then the computer would freeze. Have to force stop any activity that requires C drive working. Tried taking a screenshot as well with the snipping tool - that one would crash as well.
So I decided to reinstall my windows. I went to chrome, exported my important bookmarks to desktop - computer froze. Had to force stop the download of them. Tried to export he bookmarks to E drive - success. Have them safe now.
So the whole reinstalling proceeds took me about 3 hours when it usually take less than one. I formatted the c drive and installed new windows in it (did it like 10 times myself already, would say I know what I was doing).
D drive, however, would never be touched during windows reinstallation. I always want to keep my files safe. As I would be reinstalling my windows in the past and I would get an option to which drive I want windows to be installed I would my D drive and it would write that 200GB is used and 600GB Is free. I would always know that my files are safe when I am installing window on my C drive. This time I was surprised to see 800GB of 800GB is free on my D drive... Not sure if it is just a glitch or all my important photography files and footage is gone.
Would really appreciate any help.
