Liteon Bluray iHBS212 doesn't see optical discs

It was working just fine on the previous system but now on the new computer with a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate it doesn't see neither cdroms nor dvds.

I updated the drivers, they are already updated.
I checked the firmware with Liteon SmartPack.
I unistalled the drive from device manager, restarted the computer but the problem is still there.
Uninstalled the Intel drivers from device manager.

    These are the drivers:
    cdrom.sys is signed
    iaStorF.sys is not signed

I'm sure the drive is ok because is nearly new also it was working on the old system.
So practically when I insert a disc the led light flashes many times like the disc is loading but it doesn't then finally the light turns off.
I hope the screeshot can help describe the problem.

Why do you have the "DiscSoft Virtual SCSI CdRom Device"?
Temporarily disable this in the device manager. Restart the PC and then see if the optical drive works OK. If it does, uninstall the DiscSoft.

    Thanks for support,

I disabled it and now the virtual optical drive disappeared from the drives list (maybe was installed by Daemon Tools?), it also disappeared from Device manager so ther is no option to bring it back.
And no, it didn't fix the problem.

Just seems that you don't need that, just the optical drive, unless I'm missing something.
See this thread and if it applies to your installation.

One of the things I most hate from Asus is that they put a lot of untested and conflicting crap in their installation discs that are the object of complains on their forums which are never resolved.
I remember I tried to install the Daemon Tools Pro from the drivers disc but it failed during installation, then I installed the free Daemon Tools.

I remember the days with Windows XP not recognising the optical drives and I know this is a tough issue and hard to resolve.

    The problems seems fixed!
I'm using Reboot Restore RX so I took the system back to a previous backup and I don't know what I lost!
Maybe a program that I installed corrupted the drivers or maybe a malicious virus!
Please check the screen shots, now the drive can see the disc.
