    Ext drive help

I plugged a 500gb 2.5'' laptop hard drive into a ext enclosure via usb port on my laptop. It recognized the drive under my computer as e: It says 455gb free out of 456gb. So there are still files on it, it seems like. I know documents and such are on this drive as it's an old drive of mine. However, when I click the drive in my computer and it has the folders (program Files, program Filesx86, Users etc) When I click on Users then click my username, then click on a sub folder such as Desktop or Downloads all that it says is empty?

I'm running chkdsk r/ on it now, but anything it could be? I'm guessing if it just had W7 installed on it which it does, it wouldn't be 11gb taken up?

    TY.

Hiyya TY mate could you follow this please
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.
    (pretyped to save time)

Now my friend just exactly are you wanting to do with this drive?? For example if this drive was used for an install of Windows and you just want to have it as a backup/image device did you clean the drive before you started using it for that purpose??

But what I really need to know just what you intend doing with it and if it is just backup then this is easy fixed.
