GA-EP45-UD3P Rev 1.6 bios update to FC problem

To start i'd like to just say how much i hate this board and how i'll never buy another Gigabyte again.

First I had problems with getting my memory stable with my mobo (solved by following a guide by gskill rep). then i keep having problems with random crashes in games and couldn't find a solution so assumed that i needed a bios update. The @bios utlity keeps updating to FB even tho there is verison FC. So i download FC from the gigabyte website and use the ultity to update bios from file.

then my computers beeps like its the end of the world a couple of times as its not able to even post. Eventually it gets something resembling stablity and posts. then windows will not load and if it does it immedately crashes giving me all kinds of BSoD's (reoccuring and also some new ones).

I assumed this update would solve the memory compatiabilty issues so i figured setting everything back to auto would resolve this. NOPE! beeps to high heaven a couple of times before it can post. i try the settings that the gskills rep provided and still nothing. my computer can't even boot up anymore and i think this whole ordeal has ****ed up windows beyond repair so i'll probably have to reformate and install for the 7th time in the 2 weeks i've had this machine and OS.

this is sh*t. i hope there is someone out there who recognizes this issue. PLEASE GOD SEND ME SOME HELP!!

I agree with chiefboo on this piece of crap - I have the same problems with it, regardless of OS, RAM, HD, Graphics card: I swapped ALL of those, and they ALL work just fine in my Intel and Asus MOBOs. Further confirmation: just Google "ep45-ud3p bsod" and see what comes up.

NEVER AGAIN will I waste money on a Gigabyte product! Once Gigabitten, twice shy.

I have a 1.1 or 1.0 version and I would not ever buy anything BUT Gigabyte again, You might check with the guys on this site. They work for Gigabyte and will give you advice, I have received some help from them. Sorry to hear about you experience with Gigabyte. I tried Asus last build and it went okay.....but Gigabyte is my board of choice.

Give these guys a chance to help you. They will if they can. Click on the Gigabyte forum and sign up.

First, to answer your question, I always use QFlash utility to flash the bios. I have read that a lot of people have problems with their bios being corrupted when using @bios. Google Qflash, and you should find quite a bit of information on how to use this utility.

Secondly, I am running a EP45-UD3P rev 1.6 in my wifes computer and it sounds like you have struggled with stability problems as I have. I must also agree, this was my first Gigabyte board, and will be my last. I'll stick with EVGA from now on.

you cant corrupt the bios on the UD3P Rev 1.6 (not sure about earlyer rev.) it has dual bios you you fry the first one it gets rebuilt but the 2nd bios chip

i found the to be one of the best boards i ever owned including intel .....

Sorry to hear about your issues. I've had Gigabyte in the past and currently have a GA-EP45-UD3R rev 1.1 and it's been just fine.
