How can I disable the "Windows detected a hard disk problem" warning?

Hello, I'd like to know how to disable the "Windows detected a hard disk problem" warning that pops up every 10min or so. I've tried to run disk tests with no luck. Right now, I just want to get rid of that warning pop up till I get a new hard drive or attempt to fix it once I have time. I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. And the "gpedit.msc " doesn't work on Home Premium. I've tried to download it but no luck.. I also went to Task scheduler>Microsoft>Windows>DiskDiagnostic and disabled Microsoft-Windows-DiskDiagnosticResolver, I saw that on youtube but that didn't help, it started popping up after 45 minutes again. Any ideas on how to get rid of that annoying warning for now?

Will a clean install recovery solve this problem in general? I don't have any important files so it's not a huge problem. As long as I get rid of it by doing that.

Complete Hard Drive failure is likely at any time. If you do a fresh install it will very likely cause that failure even sooner. You will just have to put up with the frequent warning & the more you do to try & stop it the more like the drive will fail.

Back up any data that you need to keep & invest in that new hard drive ASAP, or even better get an SSD & you will be surprised how much faster the computer will be.

I've deleted the Schedule that was on "Microsoft-Windows-DiskDiagnosticResolver" because disabling it was not effective, it just starts running again after 40min or so. Anyways, can a clean reinstall fix this issue or is there a deeper problem?

It's working fine now. So a fresh install will make it worse? I have an HP G56 with a Toshiba MK5065GXS hard Drive. I'm not familiar with hard drives, but do they come with the windows recovery? Like the one I have now? How does that work?

Your hard drive has mechanical problems, which won't be fixed by a clean install. The more you use the drive, the sooner it will fail, so a clean install will hasten the failure.

As I mentioned Windows is warning you that there is hard drive problem, which might be bad or failing sectors & trying all sorts of fixes is very like to cause the hard drive fail completely.

I'm leaving it as it is now till I can get a new hard drive or an SSD like you said. If I don't mess with it, will it keep running as it is? It's running smooth, no lag or anything.

The Toshiba hard drive you have now would have come with the laptop & it would have included the Toshiba software for re installation only on that hard drive, should you corrupt the OS.

You should be able to make up a re installation DVD from the Toshiba software on the hard drive. You will need to read the instruction book on how to do that & then use that DVD to reinstall Windows.

No, any new hard drive will not have any Operating System on it, you will have to install Windows.

You will of course need to prepare that DVD before the hard drive fails. Once it fails you will lose verything.

I don't have the instructions, it's a second hand laptop. Basically, I have to make a copy of the OS that I have on my hard drive and reinstall it on the new hard drive?
