SSD problems, probably the SATA cable/connector?

    Hi!

I have a Samsung 840 EVO 120Gb SSD (which I bought in March 2014). Never had any problems with it, but recently I've been having doubts about it.
I attached a HDSentinel screenshot, which shows there's some sort of problems between the host and drive (1089 times as of now, but every system start increases that number by 1).

Most sources say this problem is caused by a faulty Sata cable/connector - which can be the actual problem, because I bought a second-hand laptop in 2016 August, took out the original HDD and put this SSD into it and that's when this "Problems occurred between the communication of the disk and the host" thing started.

My question is, is there a way to verify the cable without disassembling the laptop itself? When I take out the SSD, I only see the connector itself, no cable, in order to see that, I would have disassemble it ever further and I don't have the tools needed.
I'm also worried that this cable problem causes performance issues as well- the boot itself is lightning quick (15 sec) but when it comes to opening programs, I think it could be faster.

With a laptop the problem may be that they are all about size efficiency, Any laptop motherboard may be considered the design equivalent of a game of Tetris.

What I have seen in a lot of laptops where I have replaced a Hard Drive is a Semi-flexible connector fitted to the board parallel to it rather than a conventional cable connection.

This has a limited flexibility to allow the removal and replacement of drives but due to it's nature is susceptible to mechanical stress fracture more than a cable.

This sort of failure although not common is capable of giving the regular issue you are seeing, but the cost of diagnosis and repair can be expensive and may be more than the value of the laptop

Don't think it is the cable.
Did you cloned the laptop HDD disk on the SSD or did you did a clean install?
Is your BIOS a Legacy or UEFI? Is the SSD as MBR or GPT?
On device manager is there any missing driver or yellow alert?

    @Megahertz07

When I swapped the SSD, I did a clean install.
I think UEFI, but I'll check it to make sure.
    edit: it's legacy

Yea, I do have a few yellow alerts, but I never thought these matter?!

As you can see, there is a lot of drivers missing. One of them must be related to the SATA controller.
Please give us the laptop specs (model).

    Thank you!

I'll also try to realign my D partition, because a certain SSD health check program showed it's incorrect, and that affects performance, too.

Do you still have missing drivers?
    Is TRIM enabled?
    Type this cmd
    fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

It will give you one of two results, either a 0 or a 1. A zero indicates that TRIM is enabled correctly, a one means that it is not. If you have a TRIM-compatible SSD, but find that Windows 7 hasn't enabled the command, you can easily do so by running this command:

    fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0

I did the command, the result is 0, so it's enabled.
