What is the difference between SATAIII, SATAII, SATAI, SAS and PATA/IDE/EIDE? Thank you in advance for any info on this topic. I want to use this item on my laptops.

This website might help you. The numbers after SATA like 1, 3 or 3 indicate a later series with a higher speed transfer rate.

Whats the difference between SATA and PATA and IDE? - Ask Leo!

In most cases you are unable to change the HDD interface as the motherboard it supplied with one type & one type only as a rule. SATA3 is the most used at present & is probably found on nearly every reasonably recent computer. My 2013 desktop has SATA3 connections.
