"media test failure check cable" after bios update - Dell Optiplex 780
After I flashed a bios update on my mother's new Dell Optiplex 780, identical to mine, during which I was installing drivers and such,
every time it boots up, it always says " *media test failure check cable* "
but unlike what I find on Google, the computer then just boots up like normal—as if there was no error at all.
All the results on Google pertain to the computer being unable to boot. This is not the case for my mother's PC. Just an annoyance that could freak her out.
Not sure if this is related or helpful, but before installation of the OS, I changed the boot order of her PC (even before updating bios). It is now
1. CD rom
2. USB
3. Network
3. Hard Drive
Because I was always told to have the hard drive as the last thing in the boot list.
The CD rom and every other thing with cables works, so it is obviously not a cable issue.
