Two SSDs running IDE and switching both to AHCI for the same computer?
I have two SSDs, one as my main drive including OS, and one as an exact clone as my backup. Both are running SATA II (ASUS P5Q Pro Mobo), IDE mode. If I switch the main SSD to AHCI (using the regedit tweak) and like the results, since the BIOS would then be set to AHCI, how would I go about changing the backup SSD to AHCI since the registry msahci value on that drive would still be 3 with the BIOS set to AHCI? I'm running Win 7 Pro.
Or, another scenario only involving the main SSD. Let's say I change the main SSD to AHCI and decide to go back to IDE for whatever reason. I'm guessing it's a simple matter of changing the registry msahci value back to 3, reboot and change the BIOS back to IDE, reboot again and should be back to IDE?
