Hard drive loss after power outage

I have two physical hd's, c: and a partitioned e: and f: hd. Whilst playing a game, the power lead dropped out the e/f hd due to vibration of fans. Fixed that, but I almost lost my e: but have totally lost my f:. The pc takes an absolute age to boot, presumably trying to read the bust partition. Is there a way I can boot into c: and carry out a repair to get everything back?

Power off, unplug e/f, then power on, to see if you can boot. You can probably boot normally once e/f is removed from the picture.

As to how to recover your stuff from e/f: You could try EaseUS Partition Recovery or other similar software (I haven't used any of the modern-day partition recovery tools). Go here for more information: https://www.easeus.com/resource/partition-recovery.htm

Or, you could boot into Linux Live with e/f plugged in. You might be able to read e/f and get your stuff off of it. You can then remove all partitions on e/f while in Linux. Then remove the Linux Live DVD and reboot into Windows, then partition and format the drive that had e/f on it.

Open Explorer. Can you see the E: and F: drive?
If you do, right click - properties - Tools tab - Error check- Schedule for next boot. Do it for E: an F: and reboot.

Thanks for the replies. When I eventually boot, I see the E: drive as normal, but the F: as just a drive with 0 bytes. If I go to Disk Management, it sees F: as a RAW file format. I was wondering if chkdsk /F would be of help, as I don't want to damage it more than it is already.

It would help if you can post a full screenshot of Windows Disk Management. Guidelines here Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image - Windows 7 Help Forums
