    DVD+RW problems

    2-12-2013

Stats: Windows 7 pro 64-bit, uefi bios

I have 3 new DVD+RWs that won't format and do not appear in
the Libraries window. I have used them before and now they
will not work. I must have done something to ruin them.
I have many other DVD's that work just fine and appear in the
    libraries window.
Imgburn will burn to these DVDs but will not verify them and
    shows an error message.
Guess I will just have to throw them away.

    Thanks for any help.

Probably bad. RW media is the most unreliable and known to either lose format and/or data. RW media should be avoided. RW media requires a higher laser intensity and that can also be an issue with some drives.

I never buy DVD RW disks, but I used to. Consequently I have several blank ones available. I use the ones I have for one-time uses, such as creating a Linux Live disk and then booting from it. No harm if the disk goes bad - I'll just make another one. There will probably be a newer version of the Linux distro by that time anyway.

    Thanks guys for replying.

    Ok- I'll toss them
I might buy a few more DVDs until the price of the flash drives comes down.

I go up to Dunnellon occasionally for BBQ at Bubba Que's.

I play in a country music band. We play in Oxford (Villages) on Monday evenings.

Sounds like fun. I was a trombone player in my younger days and
played in dance bands and in any band I could find for fun.
Almost deaf now and miss my music so much. But I am still alive
    at almost 85.

I'm much "younger" at 80. LOL

I live near the Inverness Golf and Country Club. South side of Inverness.
