    id of hdd

I'm experiencing a problem whereas I've daisy chained connected, one drive after another. Although one drive isn't being seen by the computer, I was informed that it's quite possible it's sharing the same id as another drive causing one of the drives to be obsolete.

If this is the case, how do supply one of the drives a different id so it's immediately picked up by Windows ?

Its is different depending if its gpt or mbr I assume you mean disk signature

How to get it with DiskPart : Diskpart >> list disk >> select disk [n] >> detail disk >> Disk ID: 0E35445B for MBR disks and GUID: 55FD03F2-6B11-49DF-8167-D30B94A4509D for GPT Disks

When you connect a disk to Windows it writes a signature to the drive so it knows what it is the problem comes if you clone a drive as then you have two the same so it gets confused as both disk are the same you can change it if you want but on some occasions you can loose data

Most likely the problem is after rearranging the drive connections the one drive is sharing the same id as another drive which caused it to be unseen.

Is there any way I can verify if two drives are using the same id ?

How do I change the drive id ? How can I backup a drive that is unseen ?

In the meantime, are there other methods ? And is there a way to verify if there is id collision ?
