    Painting Laptop Palmrest

I don't know if this is the right forum section but here goes! Over the years a big ugly spot
has appeared on my palmrest on a time honored Aspire 5100 (yeah she still works). I thought it
was oil stains from my fingers but trying a MagicEraser it continued to take off the silver color
showing the black underneath. It sticks out like a sore thumb and bugs me... Any tips on how to paint this plastic correctly? On my unit the spot appears,
if you look at this photo, near the right speaker and the hole where the lid latch goes.
    Thanks!

Hi you didn't post a picture. To do it right you would have to take it apart so you cam spray paint the whole thing so it would look good. just painting area of palm rest where it wore would look bad in my opinion.

I tried to put a URL to the picture but I must have not made it into my post...

Anyway this is what mine looks like but it's a picture of someone else's unit. The big black spot is next to the right speaker near the hole and continues down over the headphone jack. jack

To make it look good need take palm rest off and tape off touchpad to no paint gets on their. If you can't get touch pad off of palm rest.
