Win 7 64B OS not recoginizing my phone.

I plugged the usb cable in the phone to download a photo and the computer did create a drive letter for it like it has in the past and it does not see the data in the phone, so I hooked my android up and had the same result so it was not the phone that was the problem. The phone will charge on the cable but that is it so what do I do?

Unplug your phone, then go into Device Manager, and look at the USB devices in the right panel. If any have error markers by any of them (yellow triangle), right-click on each of those listings and choose uninstall. Now go to the very top item in the right panel. Right click on it and choose "scan for hardware changes", or something like that. Now plug in your phone. It should successfully connect now.

To access the phone you must install a program. For example, for iphone, you must install iTunes - Apple, for Samsung Android you must install Samsung Kies

To help you further, we need to know what is the brand and model of your cell phone.

Difficult to say. Try to uninstall the driver and files under device manager - refresh.
