    Acer Aspire 5742Z cuts out

As my trusty Acer was getting long in the tooth I decided to invest in a new machine before it was too late.
It was quite uncanny but, as soon as I was up and running with the new machine, the 5742 began to shut down after about 25 mins each time I used it. (could swear it looks a bit sulky nowadays!)
Most of my "stuff" is now on the new machine but would be grateful for any advice on a possible fix for the Acer. I would run it alongside the new boy, possibly using Linux otl. if this would solve anything.

Hi I would start by blowing out all the dust out. Could be over heating.

If you use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air, block the cooler fan with a paper clip to avoi it to spin.

    Download https://openhardwaremonitor.org/file...0.8.0-beta.zip
    Expand to C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor
    Execute OpenHardwareMonitor.exe.
Under options set to run on Windows start.
Right click on Temperatures - CPU package - Mark Show in tray - Show in gadget

Many thanks again to both posters
Used an "Air Duster" in all orifices as suggested, amazed at amount of dust.
    Now stays on fine.
With regard to the link, I tried to download the file, took ages, then no file. Will try again later.
