My Unsolved Bluetooth Mystery Request With Windows 7 Ultimate

    Hello Everyone,

I cannot get my Bluetooth Speakers to connect to my laptop. I've run out of ideas and use a cable from the headphone jack but have been getting a very annoying buzzing sound until I reach over and move the cable. I suspect that to be a grounding problem but I'm not sure. I did get a replacement cable but the issue remains.

Right now the Harman Kardon SoundSticks Wireless Bluetooth Enabled 2.1 Speaker System connects flawlessly to my TV. But I never have been able to get them to connect to my Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q7290 Laptop. I have the Windows "Bluetooth Support Service" Enabled.

Does anyone have a better background using Bluetooth Technology that is willing to assist me in getting these speakers working using the Bluetooth connection?

    Thank You

Do they work if you disconnect the head phones (I assume you're plugging the head phones into the computer)? With the head phones connected to the computer, they likely become the playback device rather than the speakers. You can change that by going to Control Panel, Sound, Playback and selecting the bluetooth speakers, if they're shown there.

Headphones work fine but this external satellite/subwoofer gets a lot of buzzing noises until I move around the input cable (temporarily)

And they work fine when paired to my TV but I have not set them up yet or installed any software due to my lack of knowledge on what to instal first. There is no Bluetooth icon in my control panel or devices.

    Thanks

I have with no luck. I did a clean install of Windows 7 and it took me awhile to figure out my Drivers to instal. So I finally gave up and turned off the only one service I have currently showing up as stated above. I can do a trial and error but I was hoping to find out here where to start.

    Thanks Anyway

My understanding is that you have the head phones connected to the computer (as are the speakers, according to the manual). I didn't (and still don't) understand why you're using head phones when you want to hear the speakers.

Harmon Kardon has a chat line at its website- Harman Kardon - Support

    Have you tried that?

I have tried all of the above with no sucese. I currently got so frustrated that I disabled the only "Bluetooth Support Service" and have no Bluetooth icon or option in Control Panel. So if I can get it to work I'll have to install Bluthtube from scratch.

I just don't know where to start? So I just made a complete backup and can need to know which driver package to install first. I see Toshiba listed a patch but am guessing I need to have the Correct Windows 7 Bluetooth package to start with. The manual states this laptop has "Bluetooth 4.0 Capability". Should I go to Intel's Website to instal their current Bluetooth Driver Package?

A couple of things. You didn't respond to my "non-question" regarding why you're using headphones connected to your computer to hear the speakers (which are also connected to your computer). Would you expand on that?

You didn't say if you've gone to HK about this.

    Sorry For The Confusion.

Headphones with wires when plugged in the jack work great!

If I use the same input and plug in these H&K speakers they start humming until I move or touch the wire. I have not called H&K because they are not under warranty & I'd like to get these connected thru a Bluetooth connection on my laptop. (Also out of warranty). I want to understand and learn how Bluetooth is supposed to work in detail.

It must be a grounding issue. I installed Intel "BT_20.90.1_64_Win7.exe" & "BT-stack-64bit-toshiba" drivers packages today and they Worked Wireless thru the installed Drivers until I rebooted then they would not connect thru the Bluetooth.

I had done a Windows Image Complete Backup First and am back to square one.

On a side note: I alternate where I backup to between 2 Enterprise WD 7,200 RPM USB Drives and my extra internal Mushkin Reactor 1TB SSD. Today was the first time I did a complete format and image restore from the SSD. What normally takes 30 to 45 minutes took less than 10 minutes. I figured it was a failure or something but it was a SMOKIN' Fast Complete System Image Restore. I am still amazed by the speed. It still took 2-3 hours to create.
