    Ram issues


    I have a Asus M4a785TD-v Evo MB on my PC now i can't git it to boot only thing i did is i bought those memory sticks 8 GB 2x4 gb kit DDR3 pc3 15000 1866 mhz. Dual channei technology. (XMP2.0)r . Will they work on this board? Best buy said they do .

    Hi clipps,

    RAM can be defective right out of the box!
    Install one module at a time and try to boot. I highly doubt both modules are defective. If your computer doesn't boot with either, most likely incompatible.

    Easy way to determine the type of compatible RAM, use this tool from Crucial.
    It scans your computer and recommends RAM, HDD, SSD, etc.
    You don't have to use Crucial products, it does supply the relevant information to make a correct choice however.

    I didn't see DDR3 pc3 15000 1866 mhz listed in any of the choices, therefore, I don't believe your Best Buy RAM is compatible.
