Keep getting popoup "You need to format the disk in drive D:

I can't open my Mobius camera to remove video files because I keep getting a Windows popup that says: "You need to format the disk in drive D: Before you can use it." But when I try to format the Mobius camera card, it just doesn't work. Instead I get another popup that says: "Windows was unable to complete the format."

I normally use SD formatter to clean my cards with no problems. But I don't know what happened, I'm not even going to speculate what happened, no clue? I never had this Windows popup before?

I checked the Device Manager and don't see anything abnormal there? I can't use the card because there is too much video on it. If I push the record button, it will video tape for only maybe 30 seconds and shut off.

If anyone has a clue what is going on here, I would like to know?

    Thanks, XYZ

I've seen this question pop up a few times on other forums. So it's not unusual. I don't remember what the exact solution was, but doing a quick DuckDuckGo, I found this: How to Repair/Format SD Card That Wont Format - EaseUS

I normally format my SD cards on the camera by choosing an in built format option.
Does the Mobius camera has a Format option?
How are you trying to format the SD card, using a SD USB?
SD cards has a Lock switch. Is it unlock?

    R. Thanks F22, I tried that, but didn't work for me. So what I did was I just popped the SD card out and blew it out w/air and reinstalled it and that was it! The camera is on my bikes handlebars which gets a lot of road vibration from bumps in the road, potholes, etc. So I figured maybe the road vibration loosened the card enough to make it unreadable to the computer?

So I'm cool again, thank you guys for your help, much appreciated!

    Thanks, Bill

    Thanks Megahertz!

I usually format with SD Formatter. Works good.
