    I should have mentioned that you can also purchase a USB case/enclosure that can accommodate the larger EIDE hard drives. They typically cost a few dollars more but still quite reasonable. Both types of enclosure's are quite handy when wanting to access old drives using an external USB port.

    Every single external drive has one. These cases just come empty. Some have eSata, but it's mainly just a different connector, and the throughput used to be higher.
