    Hello tjotho-

I don't see any reason why you can't run Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a system which has that processor. Note that the OS is installed on a drive, not the processor.

    Hi All,
    Greets,
@tjotho : Welcome to the SevenForums!
    Sir,
    1. 7th generation intel processors are not so problematic with Win7 while 8 & 9th generations are! Even if there is a problem with win7 on 7th generation processors, there are solutions/preventions/methods on different sites.
    2. Before saying anything else, It would be better to look for the official support available for win7 for/on your pc. For eg. If there are official win7 drivers listed, win7 is a sure success story for your pc! You can update your specs with Speccy - Portable

    Let us know.

    Thanks & Regards. ...

EDIT : Intel Core i7-7800X belongs to 6th generation Intel Processors.

As Vineet Garg has pointed out, you need to update your system specifications. There is however, an easier way to do this other than doing it manually using Speccy.

    Update System Specifications

Please update your system specifications in your UserCP > Edit System Spec setup. It will help us to help you!

This tutorial [Published by Brink and written by CyberZeus] makes doing this very easy.

    Hi All,
    Greets,
    Sir(s),
    1. I am really sorry to mislead. The processor in question Intel Core i7-7800X belongs to Intel 6th generation processors :
    6th Gen Intel(R) Core™ X-Series Processor Family Datasheet, Vol. 1

    2. With the 6th generation in play, there is a sigh of relief!

    3. Microsoft legally allows to try Windows 7 for free for almost 110 days! Every 29 days you have to run the command slmgr -rearm from an Elevated Command Prompt & you can do it 3 times. It is mentioned in the win 7 license agreement.
I think that period is sufficient enough to decide whether win7 works for/on your pc.

    4. Win 7 64 bit supported official drivers are listed.

    5. Are you planning to make a dual boot/Multi boot ?

    6. Do you have One or Two internal hard disks ?

    7. Is/are your internal harddisk(s) SSD ?

    Let us know.

    Thanks & Regards. ...

New MB, chipsets and CPU's requires drivers that are not on the Win 7 installation disk. You will have to add them (USB3.x, SATA, MVMe).
Read my tutorial Create a Windows 7 USB flash installation with new drives for new MB's
SIW2 has made a small program to make it easy Update your Win 7 installation media.

    My suggestion:
    - Detach ALL existing drives from the MB (SSD, HDD, M.2).
    - Install Win 7 on a blank SSD or HDD
    - If everything works good, with all drivers installed, clone the drive to the PM981 SSD

    Hi All,
    Greets,
    @tjotho : Sir,

    1. You did not answer the questions.

    2. I see a little bit confusion. I would like to mention that Pro stands for Professional & Ultimate stands for Ultimate. The two are different versions of win7. Professional is normally cheaper & more popular version. In fact Professional is the most popular version of windows. I would advise Professional but its purely your choice. The installation method is quite same & so is the troubleshooting. You can compare the versions here :
    Compare Windows 7 Editions

    3.
    (a) You can download the original/untouched/official version of Windows 7 ultimate 64 sp 1 Norweign : Direct Download Link :
    https://tb.rg-adguard.net/dl.php?go=8588897b

WIN 7 Ultimate x64 sp1 Norweign iso info:
File size: 3045.77 MB (3193724928 bytes)
    SHA1: 6f487f2a523c3de8e2d9c9d113b42c56ae7a10dc

The above link will work for 24 hours from now. But you can easily create link any no. of times but that would be always working for the next 24 hours from the time of creation. You can create the link here :
    TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1)

    (b) WIN 7 Professional x64 sp1 Norweign iso : Direct Download link :
    https://software-download.microsoft....758ce6aec5c92d
    ISO info :
File size: 3045.77 MB (3193724928 bytes)
    SHA1: a4fd9856077028b518f48a2185f53524ebeadba9

Or you can use this utility to create the link working for the next 24 hours for Pro 64
    https://www.heidoc.net/php/Windows%2...Downloader.exe
( The required functionality works flawlessly on win8 ,8.1 & 10. On win7, you may need to install Net Framework 4.0 or later if you don't have it already! )

    (c) Besides, You can use/unlock Professional & other versions from the Ultimate iso as well!

    4. You should always first verify an iso after downloading. You can check its integrity by comparing its SHA1 against the original SHA1.
    (i) Download HashMyFiles here ( Direct Download Link )
    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hashmyfiles-x64.zip
(ii) Extract the zip file to a folder & execute HashMyFiles.exe.
(iii) Drag & Drop the Iso to the HashMyFiles window.
(iv) Let the utility load the ISO & calculate its hash/check sums
(v)compare the calculated SHA1 with the original SHA1. It should be identical.

    Let us know.

    Thanks & Regards. ...

    Hi,
    @tjotho : Sir,
Just a thought! Why do you want to install Norweign language version. The best support you will get online is available for English version. Using other languages will make you keep on translating the things or looking for translations from other people & sites! Please don't take otherwise, its just a info share.

    Thanks & Regards. ...
