Usb Tv Stick stopped working (after windows update?)

    Hi,

I have this usb tv stick (terratec cynergy xs fm, quite old, windows 7 driver hasn't been updated for years now) that has been working perfect under Win 7 (64bits) just until this week. Now when i insert the stick into the pc a notification pops up saying that an unknown device is inserted without a proper driver to be found.

I think it must have been the windows updates that I ran this week that must have broken it but i am unsure. Tried the same stick on another win7 laptop, same problem.

The first pc doesn't even boot into the bios when the stick is inserted. :-(

Reinstalling the drivers does not help.

Any hints on what could be the cause? Hope to hear.

    Regards, Ronald

This probably will not work, but have to got a system restore point prior to this happening that you could restore to?

I am not quite sure how those sticks work, but from what you have said, could it be that the USB TV stick has been corrupted in some way?

If you could pin down the particular update that you think is causing the issue then you could uninstall it!

    I hope this helps!
