Pushing Power Button Don't do anything

This belongs to a client of mine and I'm calling it dead, but wanted to give a small shot at fixing it.

All of a sudden won't start up. The little light comes on that power is getting to it but the Power Button don't do anything.

I took it apart and tried to cross some of the Power Button leads on the MB to know avail. Of course I don't know which ones to cross but none of them worked. I think the MB May be dead?

I get nothing, no noise, no fan etc. But every time I plug in the power supply the little yellow Power Light comes on.

I had this issue once and what the fix was, was just reseating the RAM. This probably won't work in your case though. I'm thinking you have a bad power supply in the laptop, or the MOBO is shoot. This was the case for my sister's laptop. I never could fix it.

I would have never tried crossing wires you don't know about, because if the fix was something as simple as reseating RAM, you may have inadvertently fried the MOBO or something else.

Thanks F22 Simpilot, I did just reseat RAM and all the connectors to the MB. I also think it is a MB Problem. Did many power cycles also. Battery out, unplug, hold power button for thirty seconds, did this many times to no avail. I think it is toast.

Now about the only thing it's good for is keeping the HDD, and selling the screen, RAM, power adapter, and maybe the keyboard on eBay. You'd be surprised at how many people buy laptop/PC parts there. I do. But, with eBay, the selling of electronics can be a PITA. Not all the time, but you may get a brain dead moron buyer that gives you a negative or opens a case stating the damn part doesn't work, not even communicating with you first on the issue. And eBay sides with the buyer all the time. I'm reluctant to sell electronics on eBay for that reason. Especially if you list it broken. People can't read, buy it, and then open a case and leave you negative feedback stating it was broken. I swear, you just can't fix stupid.

Yup, and I hate throwing aways good parts, though I never use most of them so it don't pay to keep them around. I'll need to research if that Display will fit in another good Dell laptop I have, but that will be another week before I get into that.

It's doubtful one display form one model laptop will fit another model. And even if it does, the inverter may be different. Though, I'm not sure if the inverter is in the laptop or in the screen. I'm sure it's in the laptop.

Thanks, that's what I would think especially between Toshiba and a Dell. And these guys are constantly making them slightly different so you cannot do this.
