    You never mention that the SSD was a MVMe M.2, That is why nothing had worked.

    It didn't work on the attempt of new install because you didn't add the USB 3.x AND the MVMe M.2 drivers.
    And it won't work if you clone the old HDD to the new M.2.

    You have to add the USB 3.x AND the MVMe M.2 drivers to the Win 7 installation disk.
