USB Flash Drive - No Longer Working?

Hi All,

I have photos backed up on a 64GB Flash Drive (3.1). I was backing up photos onto disks and half way through the copy process the drive quit.

Windows 7 will no longer recognize the drive. It says the drive isn't formatted? If I look under Disk Management it shows the USB as raw.

I plan on using another computer at our local library. Their computers run Ubuntu (Linux) and also have Mac computers.

Any other suggestions?

With thanks,

If it's raw it's lost the partition table and you need specific partition recovery free software

Have you either tried the USB in another computer or rebooted and tried it again in the same computer?

Hi Samuria and Paul,

I did reboot my computer and tried again. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. I plan on using another computer over at the library to see if I can read it on their computers.

I’ll also look into partition software recovery as well

Thank you for the help. I’ll keep you posted.

Solutions for you:
  1. Try with another computer as you said on Ubuntu.
  2. Try with other USB port
If the above two solutions can't work to fix your issue, there still have an option for you, using the Bitwar data recovery software to recover photos on your USB flash drive. The program detects the original file system of your RAW USB flash drive, which means the software offers the Quick Scan mode for you to scan the drive, and the advantages of using Quick Scan that is helping you get back the photos with the original file name, folder structure, and file path.
