6TB drive in Orico USB 3 dock spins down of own accord - question

I use this 18-month-old 6TB Seagate drive for storage - movies, documents, pics etc.

Without me planning or organizing it, the drive has always spun down by itself. I don't know what the timing is because I've never tested it - 30 minutes, maybe?

Which is one of my questions - how to check the timing of the spindown?

Second question: The drive is attached to my main PC, which I never shut down. I'm assuming the drive spin-down is a good idea, as it would reduce bearing wear. Is this correct?

Third question: Is there any management software that would enable me to control the drive, viz re my first two questions?

BTW: The Orico isn't a dock, it's an external enclosure, model 7688U3-BK

Have you checked the time set to turn HDD off in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings - change Advanced settings - Hard disk?

Thanks.
No, I haven't checked it. Wouldn't that setting affect all hard drives?
I'm wondering if it could be the situation that Shawn covered here:
