USB 3.0 drivers

Hi,

Intel has released two different USB 3 drivers for different chipsets. Will it be okay if I install or slipstream both into my Win 7 image ?

Thank you.

You can add drivers to the installation disk using SIW2 tool Update your Win 7 installation media.
If you have USB 2.0 port and mouse and keyboard works when you boot from the installation disk, your hardware doesn't need them to get windows installed. If there are USB 3.x on the MB you can install them after the Win 7 install.

So the question is, can I integrate both versions of drivers released by Intel ?

Thanks for the help Mega.

I found this to be very hard to do with my motherboard that has both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. Once the OS was installed I needed to install the chipset driver. Well, I couldn't since the keyboard and mouse was USB and no USB port worked. Even the USB 2.0 ports for what ever reason. So I had to use my PS/2 mouse to navigate to a CD that had the chipset driver, double click it and install. Once that was done and rebooted I was then able to use my USB keyboard and mouse, albeit they are wireless with a USB dongle.

That won't happen if you have mouse and keyboard when you boot the Win 7 installation disk.
That only happens in new MB (6th gen up) where you need to add the new drivers to the installation disk.
