Can no longer move files from SD card. Windows explorer unresponsive.

This problem occurred the same time as my network card issue, I think they could be related. Basically when I try to cut photo's from a Sandisk Ultra 32 gb SD card and paste them to a folder on my laptop this message is all that happens:
Can no longer move files from SD card. Windows explorer unresponsive.-calculating.png
The message displays indefinitely or until I reboot, also when I try to close the folder and cancel everything this appears:
Can no longer move files from SD card. Windows explorer unresponsive.-end_process.png
When I click end process nothing happens. I even tried ending 'explorer' via the task manager, even that doesn't work properly as when I restart explorer I simply end up with two instances of it running, the unresponsive one and the new one. I have to shut down manually and reboot in order to get things working again. I don't think anything is wrong with the card as the camera I use reads and writes to it without problems. Would appreciate peoples thoughts on this issue.

Probably, that is something I've already thought about trying later, however, that doesn't fix the problem. It's often more convenient using the card reader on the laptop, also if I'm out and about and want to take files off the card I don't need the camera with me.

Cut I don't believe will work because the camera protects the photos.
    Copy & Paste should work
If you wish to delete the pictures taken by the camera, insert in the camera, find delete and delete.
I had this issue with my Father's camera, that was the solution I finally found.

Hi Snick, thanks for reply, cut always used to work. There is a switch on the card that can protect it but that's always off, (it's still off). The problem occurred at a similar time to my network card playing up, I think the two issues could be related. Disconnecting from The Cloud reporting no connections available when t
