flaky usb; either works fine for hours or locks up repeatly

win7x64 SP1

Looking for some help with my flaky usb (kybd/mouse).

Seems it either works fine for hours or randomly locks.

Unhooking cable and re-inserting sometimes works, sometimes not.

Tried about every port and still random lockups on either device.

Power plan is high performance.

Thanks in advance.

Sound like your mouse or keyboard is bad or issues with the drivers
If you uninstall the drivers for the mouse and keyboard, one at a time so you can then reboot, plug & play will install the drivers.
If not a solution
Can use switch say the mouse and see if that is causing the problems.
One defective USB device can cause issues with other.

Also
Flash Hardware Acceleration causes issue sometimes
