I have the same problem as described here: Weird problem with mouse and keyboard
But in my case the problem doesn't sort itself out, plus the problem didn't begin after I launched a game. It suddenly occurred, after about 2 weeks of use. I reinstalled Windows 7 about 3 times, each time after using DBAN to wipe my hard-drive. It's really frustrating. Hope you can help me out.

Have you looked under regional settings to make sure your keyboard language is still set correctly? Simplest points first are usually a good policy

Event logs? Anything there by way of clues?

Have you got another keyboard you can try?

If the devices (you said mouse and keyboard...) are USB and you have drivers onboard for them (eg; they may be multimedia devices with additional buttons) then are they the correct ones for W7?

I'd try dropping back to PS/2 devices...

Should the errors persist then you may have a fault with the chipset drivers, or even a malfunctional motherboard...

Nothing obvious comes to mind otherwise - except malware... it'd be worth doing a full scan for anything which could be a keylogger or the like...
