You allways install the oldest system first as 7 wont understand 10s boot config while 10 would know 7s. Why not use free virtual box and install 7 as a virtual pc much safer
Over the years, I've read so many Horror Stories about PC's set up for 'Dual Boot', you couldn't run fast enough or beat me hard enough to make me ever do that.
On my Desktop system, I have five HD's inside my Tower, and each one has a different OS on it.
If I want to run a different OS, I just unplug the DATA cable from my main drive and plug it into another drive that I want to run. It takes only a few moments to change from one OS to another, but....
each drive and each OS is totally separated, and that prevents any one from futzing with any other.
I've been doing this for more years than I can recount, and each OS has always been protected.
Good Luck,
TM
Samuria's idea will work if you do not desire to plug/unplug/plug cables into different drives. TechnoMage2016 is certainly correct - his method ensures the different OSs will not interfere with each other.
When you reinstall 7 and then 10 use EasyBCD or Visual BCD Editor.
Visual BCD Editor - graphical bcdedit for Windows 7-10
EasyBCD - NeoSmart Technologies
If you end up doing a dual-boot like that, Windows 7 should automatically make another boot option for 7, so you should both have a 7 and 10 boot option without using EasyBCD.
However if you install the older OS first, you will lose your ability to use the Metro bootloader on your system.
But it really isn't that big of a deal anyways.
Microsoft's marketing team must have really thought hard on that one. For me, that conjures up an old South Park episode. For others, well, other connotations.

Yeah, when I tried a dual-boot like this on another system, it doesn't work when I use EasyBCD so it seems like EasyBCD is trying to enable the Metro bootloader however the bootloader files must be older so it just doesn't work!
It doesn't work on Windows 8/8.1 either.
Sorry for the long, unnecessary explanation.
