    Problems USB3 HDD

I have several USB external drives I use for backups.

For some reason they all are behaving erratically or not at all on Win7 but working fine on W10

I reformatted one with MiniTool on the W10 machine but if I plug into W7 it just clicks as if it is bad drive.
I with it connected the MinTool refuses to launch. I disconnect the drive and MT loads fine.

Move drive back to W10 all is well.

This is the drive I have always used for saving diskimage of my W7 machine.

Why would my W7 machine all of a sudden have problems accepting USB drives. 3.0 or 2.0

    Thanks

Lets do the basic on your Win 7
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
    Restart
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters, bad sectors etc

Back to Windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    sfc /scannow
If it finds any corrupted file, reboot and run again.

Open Device Manager. Is there any yellow alert of missing driver?
